Visual Storytelling

To tell my story I'm using visuals! My backgrounds that I choice plays a really important role to my game! I choice to use my drawings that I made for the game! It shows the major theme of it! The playing to learn also uses visual storytelling throughtout many of the games! although I couldn't play all of them because half mainly all of them were blocked! The game that I like was the Third World Farmer, as was everyone elses. It showed the concept of Visual Storytelling very well! I liked that lesson because by making us play those games It showed me which genre I wanted to use! Although I dont think my game will turn out to be a puzzle game! Just saying!

Paper Prototype!!!

The picture above would be my first level to my game!

Creating the prototype was actually fun. I really enjoyed making my game on paper and seeing what it will look like. It made me think of what I want to put into my game. To be honest I change a lot to my game idea, it probably doesn't even match what I wrote down on the team page. For my game idea I mainly just put down whatever came to mind. But it was really hard to draw my idea, although it was very successful. =] This project will probably be the last that I will actually enjoy! After this week, I'm sure I'm going to be pulling my hair out.=/

Planning your game!

For my game, I chose to work alone. Yes, we work as a class, but for the actual game making we work alone. I thought working with someone would have been harder to do. Working with someone would cause so much trouble, because you would have to divide the work into half, and have to listen to their ideas to even if you did't like it. I think if you worked with someone it wouldn't give you the accomplished feeling, like something you didn't do by yourself. I don't know, that's just what I think.

By choosing to work by myself, will take a lot of work. But I know I can do it. I've gotten this far. I know this game idea will be a challenge, but im so excited to actullay start making my game. I know I'll have to pay attention to what my teacher tells me, so I don't get lost in my game. I know I'm going to be a pain, because I know I'll be asking a lot of questions. Next week we'll be doing the drawing part for the game design and I can't wait for that either, becasue I love to draw. =)

Game Idea!

My game idea is going to be the hardest idea to think of because of my topic. I mostly think my game idea would be something along the lines of a puzzle game. Which would include a person, guy or girl, playing beer pong at first, and then if the person miss so many times, that person is asked a question about a people who abuse alcohol. If that person get that question get it right, than the person is than transferred to another set of puzzle game where he or she has to get across a river while the screen is shacking, but trying to avoid flying objects hitting the person. If the person gets that question right, than he or she is transferred to a harder game. Which would be something along the lines of the person has to try get the ball into a cup of alcohol, while trying to cross the river as flying objects coming at the person. If that person passes that sense than he or she will be able to answer another question while will be harder, if answered correctly than he will continue to the next level. This time if he or she doesn’t answer correctly, than he or she has to keep trying to pass that level to get to the next, and so on.

This was really exciting to make. I didn't realize this was going to be this difficult to do. But it was really fun to come with an idea for my game. Although I will probably change some ideas, because I'm not sure if I actually like the one I came up with. I can't wait till actullay making the game.

Mini Game!!

                                                                Mini Games

We started the Mini Game Project on 09/09/10. Which I wasn't here for the two days that we started, and it was the most important days not to miss school. Of course I have the worst luck in the world and got sick, and wasn't able to be there on Thursday or Friday. When I came back on Monday, I was so confused on to what I was doing. My teacher told me just to start off where everyone else was, and I was just like okay. When I stated I didn't know that you had to type everything exactly the same as you call the layer or symbol. And I was typing the bunny._x wrong every time, I was typing it as bunny.x  or bunny X. So my  mini game was so messed up. But I still did't give up, but I really wanted to.

I stayed after school on Tuesday, and had my teacher help me fix everything. So now I'm all caught up on the days I missed, and I finially understand how to do the project. I really enjoyed making this mini game. It was really interesting. But it was very hard at the same time. But who said this class was going to be easy?

Hello, my name is Amanda and my topic is Alcohol Abuse. The links I added will help me by telling me all the facts about poeple drinking alcohol, and how they over come it. I'm not sure what I actually want to do with my topic to make it into a game yet. I have to think more on that subject. But I know I want to do a puzzle game or at least try to.

By choosing this topic for my game, I hope it tells a lot about how people abuse alcohol, why they drink it, and how they act by being intoxicated. Drinking alcohol is a very serious matter, even with teens now at the age of 13 getting introduced with alcohol, even if it by their family members or by their firends. If not contained people can die from alcohol poisoning.

Games!

I'm most interesting in puzzle games, I like the kind of puzzle games where you have to take your time and actually look at what your doing, and go from there. Yes, some puzzle games can be very boring and make you want to fall alseep at your computer, but just read the description before you play it. My sister says she can't comprehend the  puzzles game, but I just think she does't have the patience of it. She usually gets bored within the first two levels. But not me! Once I play it's really hard to get me off the computer.

I also like adventure games. I like the type where you can explore and walk around in the game, and have to find clues to what you should do. To me it's more fun to have a "hands on" game to play. Who really like to be told how to play, what to play, and where to go in a game? Do you really think that would be fun, or would it be fun just to know what the controls are and be left on your one? I know I would.=]
